Description

A low, fully upholstered divan with a continuous curved backrest that flows into the seat, by ferm Living.

The ferm Living Rico Divan is built on a low frame with no defined transition between the backrest and the seat — the upholstered surface curves outward at the top, narrows toward the base, and runs as one uninterrupted plane from back to front edge. No exposed legs or structural lines break the silhouette.

Seat depth supports upright or reclined sitting

The seat depth and backrest angle accommodate both posture types without an adjustment mechanism. The frame sits close to floor level throughout.

Product questions

Part of ferm Living's Rico series

The Rico Divan belongs to ferm Living's Rico series, a family of seating built on one idea: the curve. Across the series, backrests and arms are drawn as continuous rounded planes rather than assembled from separate panels, and the Divan is the series' most open expression of that — it reads as part daybed, part settee, part chaise, with no single category that fully contains it. ferm Living is a Copenhagen design house rather than a studio working under a named designer, and the Rico series reflects the brand's own design direction: soft, generous forms with a warm, slightly informal presence. The Divan is a contemporary piece, and its form is the argument — a curve carried far enough to become a piece of furniture in its own right.

The Rico Divan earns its place because it does something a standard sofa or lounge chair cannot — it occupies the space between a daybed, a settee, and a chaise, and resolves it into one calm form. It suits a room that needs a generous place to sit or recline without the visual weight of a full sofa: the end of an open-plan space, a bedroom, a sunroom. The low, leg-less silhouette keeps it grounded and quiet rather than imposing. KANSO is an authorized ferm Living retailer, so every Rico Divan is made to order and sourced directly from the brand. For a buyer who wants a contemporary piece with a soft, distinctive presence rather than a conventional sofa, it is one of the more versatile pieces in the collection.

Bouclé over a curved upholstered frame

The Rico Divan is fully upholstered, with no exposed legs or structural lines — the form is carried entirely by what covers it, so the textile matters more here than on a sofa with a visible frame. Underneath is a moulded-foam structure over an FSC-certified inner wooden frame, shaped to hold the continuous curve from backrest to front edge. The upholstery is bouclé, a fabric woven from deliberately uneven yarn to produce its looped, textured surface; it suits the Divan's rounded form, catching light across the curve rather than lying flat. ferm Living offers the Rico in fabric groups that move from the house's own Soft Bouclé through to wool-rich and Kvadrat textiles, so the same form can be specified soft and pale or deeper and more textured. The structure stays constant; the fabric sets the surface and the weight of the piece in a room.
