Audo Copenhagen

Audo Copenhagen is the Danish design house formed in 2023, when The Audo, the creative house and hotel in Copenhagen's Nordhavn district, united with MENU and by Lassen. The material palette is narrow on purpose. Oak in stained and natural finishes, Carrara and Kunis Breccia marble, travertine, brushed and bronzed brass, powder-coated steel, bouclé, and sheepskin. The same bronzed brass turns up on a lamp dimmer and a table base, which is why pieces from different designers sit together without argument.

Tables, Seating, and Storage

The Androgyne Dining Table pairs a stone or oak top with a slim steel base, and runs through to the Androgyne Lounge Table and Androgyne Side Table in matching finishes, so a room can be furnished from one family. The Brasilia Lounge Chair and its ottoman sit low on a solid oak frame. For larger rooms, the Eave Modular Sofa by Norm Architects builds from two-seat and three-seat units into corner and chaise arrangements; the Offset Sofa suits a fixed footprint. Corded and Portable Lighting

The lighting splits cleanly in two, and it is worth knowing which you are buying.

The corded pieces are architectural and stay put: the Hashira Floor Lamp with its pleated paper shade, and the JWDA series by Jonas Wagell, built on concrete, marble, or metal bases with a brass collar that doubles as the dimmer.

Tableware and Objects

The accessories are where most people meet the brand first. The Bottle Grinder pairs a ceramic grinding mechanism with a hardwood lid and has been in production since its MENU days. Bouclé photographs lighter than it looks in a north-facing room, and marble varies slab to slab. Is Audo Copenhagen the same as MENU?

MENU merged into Audo Copenhagen in 2023 alongside by Lassen, and those designs continue under the Audo name with the same tooling and the same factories. The Bottle Grinder, the JWDA lamps, the Afteroom chairs, and the Androgyne tables all started there. Nothing was discontinued in the transition, and by Lassen pieces such as the Kubus candle holder sit in the same catalog.
