The Hasami Porcelain Plate in Gloss Gray has a smooth, reflective surface with faint dark flecks and a bare rim where the raw clay shows through. It's finished with a clear glaze formulated for the Hasami system, fired over a dense body of Amakusa pottery stone and clay. Takuhiro Shinomoto designed it as part of a modular system in which plates, bowls, and mugs across three finishes share a single diameter.
Every plate shares its diameter with the rest of the Hasami range, so it sits flush over a matching bowl as a lid or stacks with the mugs and other plates already in your cabinet. The glaze also means this finish resists stains from oils and acidic food better than the unglazed Natural and Matte Black pieces, and it's microwave- and dishwasher-safe.
