Audo Copenhagen Knitting Chair – Iconic 1951 Design, Refined for Modern Living
Architectural Form by Ib Kofod-Larsen
Originally introduced in 1951, the Knitting Chair by Danish architect Ib Kofod-Larsen features a low, angular frame with open armrests that lend it both structure and softness. Reissued by Audo Copenhagen, it’s crafted from sustainably sourced wood and upholstered in refined fabrics, preserving the sculptural clarity of the original design.
Balanced Comfort and Compact Scale
With a gently reclined back and floating arm supports, the chair invites relaxed posture without excess bulk. Its striking silhouette and modest footprint make it a natural fit for reading corners, studios, or interiors that value both craft and clarity.
Highlights
- Striking triangular construction – Features a gently curved seat and back for relaxation
- Unique cut-outs – Provides support for resting elbows while reading or unwinding
- Compact footprint – Fits seamlessly into both small and spacious interiors
- Ergonomic design – Angled for superior lumbar support and comfort

What to Expect with Made-to-Order
How long will it take?
Pieces ship within the quoted window on this page. The timeline typically follows: order received → production scheduled → craftsmanship → quality check → shipping.
Will I get updates?
Yes. We confirm your order, share any schedule changes, and message you again when the piece is preparing to ship.
Can I change my finish or address after ordering?
Edits are possible before production begins. Address changes are fine any time before shipment. Contact us as soon as possible.
Do you offer fabric or wood samples?
Yes. Swatches are available so you can confirm color and texture before ordering.
What delivery service is used?
Complimentary White-glove delivery is included. We schedule a day and window, bring the piece inside, place it in the room, and remove packaging.
Are there extra fees?
No surprise fees. Taxes and any applicable delivery services are shown before you pay.
What happens on delivery day?
Please ensure clear access (doorways, elevators, stairs) and have someone present to sign. If anything looks off, tell the team and note it on the paperwork.
What if my item arrives damaged?
Report damage, refuse delivery, and contact us right away with photos. We’ll arrange a repair, replacement, or refund.
Do you accept returns on made-to-order items?
No. Because each piece is custom made, we don’t accept returns. Refunds or replacements are offered only if the item is damaged upon delivery.
Can I cancel?
Once in production, the order cannot be canceled.
