01 — Living Room
Choose your layout
A large rug is the foundation of a room and should highlight or complement the furniture and decor. The larger the rug, the more spacious and grand the room will feel. A smaller rug creates a defined zone within the space.
Layout 01
Center the Rug
In a smaller living room, create a feeling of more space by placing all furniture outside the rug with equal distance on each side. Make sure the rug is at least as wide as the sofa.
Layout 02
Half-On, Half-Off
Place the front feet of the sofa and armchairs on top of the rug. Having the edge of the rug partly covered by the furniture creates a more elegant, unified look. The rug should be ~8″ wider than the sofa on each side.
Layout 03
All Furniture On Top
For larger living rooms, place all furniture fully on top of the rug. For a grand feeling, make sure the rug is large enough to frame around the furniture, allowing at least 6″ between the sofa and the edge of the rug.
Layout 04
Asymmetric Layout
If you have a large corner sofa, align it with the corner edge of the rug. Use the rest of the rug as a canvas to style other furniture, playing with form and asymmetry to create a feeling of balance and harmony.
Layout 05
Framing Your Furniture
For large open living spaces with two sofas facing each other, frame the entire conversation area with one generous rug. Make sure the rug extends at least 8″ around all sides of the furniture arrangement.
02 — Dining Room
Choose your table shape
All chair legs must remain on the rug even when pulled out from the table. A rug that is too small causes chairs to catch on the edge and disrupts the look. When in doubt, always size up.
Dining 01
Square or Round Table
A square or round dining table seating 4–8 guests works beautifully with a square rug — creating a symmetrical frame that promises both comfort and sophistication.
Dining 02
Small or Medium Rectangular Table
For a rectangular dining table seating 6–8 guests, a 6′×9′ rug is the best choice. For a smaller table around 5′ long, this size frames generously, creating a more grand and elevated look.
Dining 03
Large Rectangular Table
For a large rectangular dining table seating 8–10 guests, a 9′×12′ rug frames generously around the table — adding comfort, luxury, and drama to the dining space.
03 — Bedroom
Choose your bed size
Position the rug under the lower two-thirds of the bed so your feet land softly when you rise. The rug should extend at least 3–4′ on each side of the bed to provide a comfortable landing area.
Bedroom 01
Small Bedroom — Twin Bed
For a smaller bedroom with a twin bed, place a 5′×8′ rug under the lower part of the bed. Aim for at least 3–4′ of rug on each side so you have enough room to comfortably land your feet.
Bedroom 02
Medium Bedroom — Queen Bed
A 6′×9′ or 9′×12′ rug under a queen bed allows plenty of room for your feet to land on. The larger size also frames generously at the foot of the bed — a perfect place for a bench or stool to show off the rug's texture and detail.
Bedroom 03
Large Bedroom — King Bed
For a large bedroom with a king bed, position a 9′×12′ or 12′×15′ rug against the back wall to perfectly frame the entire bed. This leaves room for night tables and plenty of space to tread on, while softening acoustics throughout the room.
