Porcelain Dinnerware — Two Traditions, One Standard
KANSO's porcelain dinnerware collection draws from two distinct making traditions — Japanese industrial craft and French culinary heritage — united by a shared commitment to material quality over surface decoration.
Hasami Porcelain is produced in Nagasaki prefecture, Japan, where porcelain manufacturing has continued for over four centuries. Each piece is wheel-thrown using regional clay and fired to a precise matte or gloss finish. The forms are modular and stackable — designed for daily use rather than display.
Pillivuyt has produced hard-paste porcelain in France since 1818. The material is fired at high temperature, making it resistant to chipping, thermal shock, and the demands of a working kitchen. The aesthetic is restrained and enduring — French in its confidence, minimal in its execution.
Both brands produce porcelain that improves in context rather than demanding attention. This collection is for the table built around everyday use, natural materials, and long ownership. For related pieces, explore the Barware and Glassware collections.
