The Hasami Porcelain Mug in Black is finished in a flat black glaze with no reflective sheen, over a high-fired body of Amakusa pottery stone and refined clay sourced near Hasami Village. The dense body gives the mug noticeable weight in the hand and walls of consistent thickness, with a chip-resistant rim and edges left unglazed to show the raw material beneath the finish.
