The ferm Living Root Stool is shaped by hand from a single teak root, preserving the original grain, knots, and irregular surface contours of the source wood. The root determines the final silhouette: there is no template profile, and the stool is not reproduced from a mold or pattern. Each piece carries distinct variation in shape, surface texture, and wood tone.
Reclaimed by-product teak
The teak is sourced from root material that would not otherwise enter production. Solid teak holds its structural integrity under seated use over time, without treatment under normal indoor conditions.
