The Hasami Porcelain Mug in Natural feels dry and lightly textured in the hand, closer to raw stone than to glazed ceramic. The body is a blend of crushed Amakusa pottery stone and clay, left unglazed on the outside, with tone and texture that vary slightly from mug to mug as a result of the firing process.
Every Hasami piece of the same diameter stacks flush with the mug, including bowls, plates, and the wood lid that doubles as a cover or coaster, so one mug is the start of a set that grows without looking mismatched.
