Hasami porcelain in its rawest form: fired without any glaze, so the surface stays dry and stone-like, showing the raw color and texture of the clay itself. The Hasami Porcelain Plate in Natural comes from a dense body of Amakusa pottery stone and clay, the same crushed-stone composite that makes the fired body more resistant to chipping at the rim and base. Tone and texture vary slightly from piece to piece, a natural result of the exposed, unglazed surface rather than something to worry about.
Every plate shares its diameter with the rest of the Hasami range, so it sits flush over a matching bowl as a lid or stacks neatly with the mugs and other plates already in your cabinet. It's microwave- and dishwasher-safe, so the everyday use this surface is built for doesn't ask for any special care.
