The New Works Tenon Lounge Chair reads as an exposed wood frame wrapped around a cushioned seat and back, with the joinery left visible rather than hidden inside the structure. Solid oak members meet at mortise-and-tenon joints, a shaped tongue fit into a socket, so the frame holds together without metal fasteners at those points. Omayra Maymó designed it for New Works, pairing that traditional joinery with curved oak-veneer sections that keep the grain reading as one continuous piece.
