Description

A deep cut-pile rug in handwoven New Zealand wool, designed in Stockholm by Nordic Knots and handmade in India. GoodWeave certified.

The Nordic Knots Grand Rug carries a substantial pile depth that reads soft underfoot and visually anchors a room at scale. Cut-pile rugs of this depth and size typically define a primary living or dining area rather than accenting a smaller space. The New Zealand wool resists matting and recovers from compression, so pile height stays consistent through regular foot traffic over time.

Scaled for open-plan and dining rooms

The rug runs from standard sizes through large-format dimensions suited to open living areas and dining rooms where a smaller piece would float. Pile depth and density stay consistent across the full surface regardless of size.

Product questions

Nordic Knots' signature rug, designed in Stockholm

The Grand Rug is Nordic Knots’ most recognizable design. Founded in 2016 by Liza Laserow Berglund, Fabian Berglund, and Felix Berglund, the Stockholm rug house builds on Scandinavian design principles: restraint, natural materials, and forms meant to outlast trends. The Grand reflects that thinking at its most direct, with a plain, deep cut-pile field and no pattern, where the construction and color do all the work. It is designed in Stockholm and handwoven by GoodWeave-certified artisans in Bhadohi, India, a region with a long handweaving tradition. The Grand is a contemporary rug, and its appeal lies in its plainness — a considered surface rather than a decorative one.
