A rug in New Zealand wool with thick looped sections sitting higher than the hand-cut pile around them. Designed in Stockholm by Nordic Knots and handmade in India. GoodWeave certified.
The Nordic Knots Park 03 Rug pushes the looped pile higher than its Park 01 and 02 counterparts. The result is defined textural contrast between the raised loops and the surrounding cut field. The pattern reads as dimensional rather than printed; the texture is the design.
Raised loops hold their height
The tighter the loop, the better it resists compression. The loops on Park 03 are tight enough to hold their raised position under regular foot traffic without crushing into the cut pile around them. New Zealand wool carries this resilience naturally, and the dense weave reinforces it.
- Hand loomed loop and cut pile design: 0.59 inches thickness.
- New Zealand wool, for softness and durability.
- Designed in Stockholm, handmade in Bhadohi, India.
- Goodweave™ Certified
- Thick Looped and Hand-Cut Pile Structure – The Park 03 uses a more pronounced combination of looped and cut pile than earlier Park constructions, producing a deeper, more visible texture that reads clearly across a room rather than appearing flat at distance.
- Dense New Zealand Wool with Pronounced Pile Height – The higher pile density and increased pile height give the rug a more substantial feel underfoot than low-profile woven rugs, while still maintaining a structured surface that does not collapse under furniture.
- Subtle Tonal Shifts from Pile Variation – Where looped and cut sections meet, slight tonal differences in how the wool reflects light create a surface that shifts in appearance depending on viewing angle — depth without added color or pattern.
- Small-Batch Handcraft with Close Pile Control – Limited production allows each rug to be woven with consistent pile height and density across its full surface — pile irregularities that develop in larger-scale production are reduced through hands-on oversight.
- Durable Long-Term Construction – The New Zealand wool pile is designed to maintain its texture and height over years of regular foot traffic, with natural fiber resilience that helps the pile recover between heavy-use periods.
- Multiple Size Options – Available from 5x8 through 10x14 for living rooms and dining areas of varying scale.
