Nuura Rizzatto 42 Ceiling Light

A semi-flush ceiling light that keeps the Rizzatto chandelier's stacked form but mounts close to the ceiling. Two mouth-blown opal shades, an elliptical upper feeding light into an oval below, on a satin brass canopy. Designed by Paolo Rizzatto for Nuura.

The Nuura Rizzatto 42 stacks two opal shades on a satin brass canopy that fixes flat to the ceiling. The upper elliptical shade passes its light down into the lower oval, so the glow builds through both rather than starting at the bulb. Both are mouth-blown, so the surface varies from one piece to the next. The opal glass holds the light to a soft, even spread with no hot spot.

For rooms a pendant won't suit

The 42 is the choice when a room wants a chandelier's presence but can't take a hanging one. It mounts flat, suiting a kitchen or bedroom where a dropped pendant would be in the way. It carries the same two-part form as the Rizzatto 32, the chandelier the collection is built around. Where the 301 and 171 reduce that form to a single shade, the 42 keeps it whole.
