Pillivuyt fires the hard-paste porcelain at 2550°F, producing a dense, non-porous body and a glaze hard enough to resist the chips and scratches that dull softer dinnerware over time. Pillivuyt has produced its porcelain in Mehun-sur-Yèvre, France, since 1853, continuing a manufacture the family founded in 1818.
