Nordic Knots Rugs: Handwoven Wool Rugs Designed in Stockholm
Nordic Knots rugs are designed in Stockholm and handwoven from 100% New Zealand wool by GoodWeave-certified artisans in Bhadohi, India. The collection spans plush high-pile, low-pile loop-and-cut, bouclé, and shag constructions across sizes from 4x6 to 12x15, with made-to-order options for non-standard rooms. KANSO is an authorized US retailer carrying the full Nordic Knots catalog, including custom sizes and limited-run colorways sourced directly from the brand.
Nordic Knots Rug Styles
- Grand Rug: A plush, deep cut-pile wool rug available in saturated colorways including Deep Wine, Sakura Pink, Pecan, and Emerald. The brand's most recognized design.
- Bouclé Rug: Hand-carded New Zealand wool in a looped weave with subtle tonal variation and dense, structured texture.
- Park Rug: A low-pile rug combining looped and hand-cut sections in a warm cream tone. Versatile across living rooms, dining rooms, and bedrooms.
- Park 02 Rug: Understated neutrals with a layered loop-and-cut surface. Suited to high-traffic areas where a thinner profile matters.
- Park 03 Rug: A more pronounced loop-and-cut construction than earlier Park designs, with deeper dimensional texture that reads across larger rooms.
- Fields Shag Rug: A high-pile shag in undyed New Zealand wool, with natural tonal shifts from dusty white to sand and muted grey.
Nordic Knots Rug Sizes
Nordic Knots rugs are available in standard sizes including 4x6, 5x8, 6x9, 8x10, 9x12, 10x14, and 12x15. Custom and made-to-measure sizes are available on request for irregular rooms, oversized layouts, or wall-to-wall installations. Contact us for custom sizing.
Nordic Knots Rug Colors
The collection covers neutral foundations — cream, beige, sand, and grey — alongside saturated colorways including deep blue, forest green, burgundy, terracotta, and warm brown. Newer 2026 releases expand the palette with Sakura Pink, Pecan, Emerald, and Deep Wine in the Grand collection.
Choosing a Nordic Knots Rug by Room
- Living Room: Plush constructions like the Grand or Grace work well under seating arrangements where softness underfoot matters. Sizes from 8x10 upward typically anchor a sofa-and-chair layout.
- Bedroom: High-pile shag or plush rugs in the Fields or Grand line provide warmth underfoot. Most owners size the rug to extend 18–24 inches beyond the bed on three sides.
- Dining Room: Low-pile constructions like the Park or Park 02 allow chairs to move easily over the surface. Size the rug so chairs remain on the rug when pulled out from the table.
- High-Traffic Areas: The Park collection's tight wool construction and lower profile resist matting in entryways, hallways, and shared spaces.

About Nordic Knots
Founded in Stockholm in 2016 by Liza Laserow Berglund, Fabian Berglund, and Felix Berglund, Nordic Knots produces hand-loomed rugs rooted in Scandinavian design principles. Each rug is woven in small batches in Bhadohi, India under GoodWeave certification — an independent standard verifying the absence of child labor and supporting weaver welfare programs. The brand's restraint, natural fiber sourcing, and focus on enduring construction over seasonal pattern have made it one of the most recognized contemporary rug labels in Europe and the US.
