Description
The Hasami Porcelain Plate in Black has a dry, stone-like matte surface, with a pale, unglazed band left bare at the rim where the raw clay shows through. The matte black finish is a flat glaze fired over a dense body of Amakusa pottery stone and clay. It is microwave- and dishwasher-safe, but not intended for the oven or an open flame.
- Handcrafted in Hasami, Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan
- Amakusa stone-and-clay body, fired to a dense weight
- Matte black glaze, left bare at the rim for contrast
- Shares the system's diameter, so it doubles as a lid for matching bowls and mugs
- Stacks flush with other pieces in the Hasami range
- Designed by Takuhiro Shinomoto
- Microwave and dishwasher safe
